The Specialized Machine Operator I position involves operating up to 3 specialized machines to meet all company objectives and standards. These machines may be manual, automatic, or robotic: grinding machines, CNC, threading, and coating equipment. The Specialized Machine Operator I must maintain the expected skill level in accordance with competency evaluations.
\n
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty, representing the required knowledge, skills, and/or abilities.
\n
- Operate up to 3 specialized machines to produce parts according to blueprints, machining programs, specifications, and/or special instructions.
- Recognize and detect machines operating out of tolerance and adjust controls or fixtures as needed.
- Perform basic tests to verify the accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
- Verify part compliance with specifications using gauges, SPC, and shop floor systems.
- Identify minor machine adjustments, make necessary corrections, and perform in-process inspections. Major discrepancies are reported to the team lead or supervisor.
- Perform work operations under supervision.
- Check tooling and rework if necessary to keep machines running.
- Prepare parts for subsequent machining operations.
- Inspect products for compliance with quality standards by following blueprints or work instructions.
- Participate in and maintain LEAP and APU/GAP standards.
- Participate and engage in PSM1 meetings, reporting ongoing and long-term issues encountered.
- Support project and workshop initiatives.
- Maintain records, perform data entry, housekeeping, and comply with all safety rules.
- Responsible for adhering to regulations set by federal, local, and national governments, LISI Aerospace, and HSE procedures.
- Required to attend all assigned training sessions and comply with all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, meet reporting requirements, and consistently follow safe operating procedures.
- Must immediately report any known or suspected non-compliance with company procedures or legal requirements to management.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve HSE performance by setting objectives, measuring progress, and reporting results.
- Work within recommended waste elimination initiatives related to manufacturing operations, including recycling opportunities to reduce or minimize production waste.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:\n
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) preferred but not required.
- Work experience in manufacturing workplace procedures.
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience and/or training in a manufacturing and/or industrial shop, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
