About the Position
Position Title Childcare Worker - Daycare
Job Type Full Time, Temporary - 35 hours per week (8 weeks)
Work Location Onsite
Reports to Manager, Childcare
Summary of Role
The Daycare Child Care Worker supports the delivery of childcare services by creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for children.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise children at all times to ensure safety, well-being, and compliance with childcare standards
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities that support early learning, creativity, and social development
- Assist children with daily routines, including meals, hygiene, and transitions between activities
- Monitor children’s behavior and provide guidance to support positive interactions and development
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe childcare environment, including sanitizing toys and materials
- Support the preparation and setup of childcare spaces and learning materials
- Communicate effectively with staff regarding children’s needs, concerns, and progress
- Follow all health, safety, and supervision protocols, including emergency procedures
- Assist with record-keeping where required, including attendance and incident reporting

Requirements / Qualifications
- High School Diploma or currently enrolled in college or university
- Experience working with non-profit organizations is an asset
- Comfortable with using technology, e.g. MS Office, Internet, skype, websites
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation
- International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizen or permanent residents
