Metro Pavement Markings Ltd.
Estimator & Project Manager
Acton, Ontario Full-Time, Permanent
ABOUT METRO PAVEMENT MARKINGS
Metro Pavement Markings Ltd. (METRO) is an Acton-based civil services company specializing in pavement marking, and road maintenance across Ontario. We operate as a subcontractor and direct supplier to the Ministry of Transportation (MTO), municipalities, cities, airports, property managers, general contractors, and consulting engineers.
At METRO, our reputation is built on relationships. We grow by earning the long-term trust of the clients and contractors we work alongside. The people who succeed here combine genuine technical credibility with real likability. If clients look forward to hearing from you, you will do well here.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for an Estimator & Project Manager who is as comfortable on a job site with a GC superintendent as they are closing out billing in the office. This is a client-facing, relationship-driven role. You will be the face of METRO to many of our customers. Your ability to build trust, communicate proactively, and follow through every time matters more than any credential.
Estimating is part of the job, but this is not a desk-bound take-off role. The heart of what you will do is manage projects from award to close-out. You will own the customer relationship throughout and make sure our field performance reflects what we promised when we priced the work. Understanding the gap between estimated and actual performance, and using that to get better, is central to how we operate.

- Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating crews, equipment, subcontractors, and client milestones
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to safety requirements
- Track bid-to-actual cost performance in B2W Track. Understand where margin is being made or lost and why
- Manage change orders proactively: identify scope changes early, price them quickly, and secure written client approval

- Manage project close-out: final walkthroughs, deficiency resolution, documentation, and client sign-off
- Provide regular project status and financial performance reports to senior management
Estimating
Our customers typically provide project quantities directly, making the estimating process straightforward. Your focus is on accurate pricing, competitive positioning, and getting bids out on time.
- Prepare competitive, well-organized estimates and bid submissions using B2W Estimate. Customers provide quantities; you price the work

- Submit all bids and tenders on time. Deadline discipline is non-negotiable
- Maintain and update pricing databases for materials, labour rates, and equipment costs in B2W
- Review each awarded project against its original estimate. Identify variances, understand the cause, and carry those lessons into future bids
