About the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club: As a family-oriented private Club, our mission is to be a Great Club for our members by delivering exceptional experiences, inspired by our warm and welcoming culture. Located in North Toronto, the Club consists of more than 4,000 members, with a strong presence in the local social and sporting community.
We are currently looking for a seasonal Assistant Server to join our Food & Beverage Department for the Summer season. This position will be responsible for assisting with serving our Club members and guests in our busy dining areas in addition to banquet and catering functions. The successful candidate will be able to work flexible shifts, days, evenings and weekends as required.
An Overview of Key Responsibilities
- A first point of contact for Club Members and Guests by greeting and guiding them to their reserved tables
- Partner with kitchen and front-line food & beverage staff to efficiently move food, flatware, etc. with a focus on service, efficiency, and consistency
- Provide friendly, courteous service to all guests and team members
- Clean, set, and re-set tables continuously, assuming responsibility for assigned areas
- Enforce and comply at all times with safe-food handling practices and the maintenance of a sanitary working setting
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed
Job Requirements:
- Some experience with food serving and public relations in hospitality or recreation related industry
- Experience in the private Club and or Hospitality industry
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Capable of lifting, pulling, and pushing moderate weight (up to approx. 40 lbs.)
- High levels of initiative, and dedication to providing exceptional service
- Ability to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Ability to work flexible hours & shifts: days, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- High school or equivalent education required
- Smart Serve certification is an asset
