About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, HR Systems, the HR Analyst is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and integrity of our HR systems. Working at the intersection of technology and human resources, this role will provide the coordination and analysis necessary to support the broader HR team. This is a hands-on role where the incumbent will investigate system issues, perform data audits, and assist with the implementation of new system modules. We are looking for a problem-solver who enjoys technical troubleshooting and wants to be an integral part of high-impact projects like system upgrades and reporting enhancements.
This position is a replacement term role working 35 hours per week, and expected to end November 30, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and complete scheduled reporting and analysis as required
- Perform data investigations, or other troubleshooting requests including communicating back o the clients
- Support position management activities (Payroll Redistribution forms, Reclassification forms, Title changes, Reports to changes)
- Review and action workflow requests for HR timesheet requests and related security
- Review and set up and modifying timesheet users and/or approvers in applicable system locations
- Triage HR Systems inbox and responding to queries
- Provide contract administration support
- Perform information and report requests
- Complete User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Test new Argos Reports, or Banner scheduled upgrades, break-fixes, modifications or enhancements, documenting test scripts or report issues; other testing,as required
- Complete information requests that require manual look up of information in systems
- Perform regular data auditing
- Modify systems’ user guides, as required
- Ensure familiarity the Access to Information Act (ATIA) and ensure all HR information is handled in accordance with ATIA guidelines and University practices
- Continuously improve HR forms and process, i.e., creating PDF fillable forms, google forms, etc.
- Participate on committee and project teams, as appropriate
- Other tasks as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business information systems or other relevant demonstrated education related to the role
- CPHR designation is considered an asset
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in a Human Resources, Payroll or similarly confidential and sensitive environment
- A combination of previous education and experience may also be considered
- Experience in a fast-paced office environment with multiple competing deadlines
- Aptitude for data analysis and critical thinking in a dynamic environment
- Ability to independently manage work assignments and multiple priorities to achieve deadlines
- Experience using an HRIS; Ellucian Banner experience considered a strong asset
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form on sensitive issues in a busy environment
- Must demonstrate sound judgment in terms of situations that are priority and items that must be highlighted to a consultant or Manager
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications, Google Workspace, electronic databases
- Experience with SQL
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to tactfully handle conflict situations
- Well-developed teamwork skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail is essential
- Ability to independently problem solve
- Familiarity with privacy legislation and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Salary: $65,827 - $83,245 per annum
