Position Summary:
We’re looking for a reliable, detail‑oriented Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. This role focuses primarily on food preparation to support smooth kitchen operations. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to grow in the culinary field.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare ingredients according to recipes and kitchen standards (chopping, portioning, measuring, labeling)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized prep station
- Assist chef and cooks with daily prep lists and kitchen tasks
- Properly store food items and rotate stock following food safety guidelines
- Support dishwashing as needed, including cleaning pots, pans, and utensils
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service
- Operate kitchen equipment safely.
- Support the kitchen team with various tasks as needed.
- Follow health and safety regulations and ensure compliance with local and state regulations.
Qualifications:
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Food Handling Certificate.
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work in different areas of the kitchen as needed.
- Ability to occasionally lift items as heavy as 50 lbs.
