About the Role:
o Assist in the collection of patient history.
o Restrain pets as required for exams.
o Assist DVMs and RVTs with routine laboratory tests such as radiograph and ultrasound.
o Help prepare patients and the surgical suite for surgery.
o Ensure surgery suites are prepared and sanitized.
o Fill prescriptions for clients.
o Feed, bathe, and walk pets.
o Keep all wards and kennels properly cleaned and disinfected.
o Sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, supplies, and exam rooms after each appointment or treatment.
o Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working order.
o Stock cupboards and drawers with appropriate supplies (e.g., towels, blankets).
o Assist others in ensuring the reception area, pet holding areas, and common areas are clean.
Education:
A Veterinary Assistant program with 2+ years of work experience in an ER or GP clinic setting, or equivalent work experience would be an asset.
