Language: up are also included. We may also be able to provide opportunities to develop new skills relevant to our site such as weaving, rug hooking, traditional hearth cooking, and gardening based on individual interest.
The Museum Docent will familiarize themselves with records and objects in the museum collection on an ongoing basis; this strengthens their understanding of the site's history to provide information about Keillor House Museum and the surrounding region to visitors. They contribute to special events held at the museum and have the opportunity to learn specific skills related to museum operations in collaboration with their colleagues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will have completed grade 12, have good public speaking and customer service skills, and have an interest in local history (students of at least 16 years of age may also be considered for related positions in our organization). Prior work in museums (or other heritage institutions) will be considered an asset. The selected candidate must be proficient in both official languages. Applicants should have their own reliable transportation to and from the place of work in Dorchester, N.B. and be willing to work weekends.
