Cadzow Healthcare Centre Laboratory is a agile and busy department, offering an excellent environment to expand and strengthen your skills. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will gain hands‑on experience in both inpatient and outpatient blood collection, urinalysis, and specimen handling and processing. This role provides a strong foundation for professional growth while contributing meaningfully to high‑quality patient care in a supportive rural setting.
Description:
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

job phlebotomy training provided by APL at no cost, and formal training courses offered by SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) or NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology). The costs associated with these formal training courses will be your responsibility. You will be required to complete these training requirements within six (6) months of hire, as per the Health Sciences Association of Alberta (HSAA) collective agreement.
Preferred Qualifications:
Medical laboratory assistant (or equivalent), experience in a hospital setting. Experience performing urinalysis, phlebotomy, and specimen processing.
