working alongside multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulators to deliver science‑based solutions that matter.

Your Impact Lead and support aquatic field programs including fish and fish habitat assessments, baseline studies, environmental monitoring, and fish salvage activities.
\n
Take ownership of field execution, including planning logistics and implementing site‑specific health and safety plans.
\n
Work independently or lead small field teams across projects in rail, power, mining, oil and gas, pipelines, and infrastructure.
\n
Collect, manage, and interpret aquatic and water quality data to support sound environmental decisions.
\n
Contribute to technical reports, regulatory permitting, and proposal development.
\n
Collaborate with clients, regulators, and internal teams to deliver high‑quality, defensible work.
\n
Apply best practices and regulatory requirements while upholding WSP’s skilled and safety standards.
\n
The Skills That Set You
\n
Apart A B.Sc. with 5+ years of freshwater aquatic field leadership experience, or an M.Sc. with 3+ years of relevant experience.
\n
Hands‑on experience with fish and fish habitat sampling methods such as electrofishing, gill netting, and trapping.
\n
Comfort working on or near water and the ability to identify small‑ and large‑bodied fish species in the Prairies and/or Northern Canada.
\n
Experience working in remote and challenging outdoor environments, with flexibility to travel.
\n
Working knowledge of standard field sampling methods, GPS units, and water quality meters.
\n
Experience operating boats and off‑road vehicles (ATVs, snowmobiles, Argos); PCOC and electrofishing certification are strong assets.
\n
A proactive, safety‑first mindset and the ability to troubleshoot equipment in the field.
\n
