Maintenance Service Worker 1 (MSW1) – Park Maintenance Worker 1:
$23.11 - $26.00 per hour
Maintenance Service Worker 2 (MSW2) – Park Maintenance Worker 2:
$24.80 - $30.36 per hour
Maintenance Service Worker 3 (MSW3) – Park Maintenance Crew Lead:
$26.18 - $32.08 per hour
In addition to regular wages, regular Wage employees receive 11.6% in lieu of benefits and vacation leave:
- 5.6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays
- 6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay
In addition to the regular wages and the additional pay in lieu of benefits and vacation, regular wage employees are entitled to shift premium pay:
- $3.25 per hour for weekends
- $2.75 per hour for evenings

Role Responsibilities
If you enjoy working outside and are committed to caring for Alberta Park’s facilities and campgrounds, come join our Maintenance Team in the Slave Lake Area. We are looking for highly motivated, well-organized, responsible Maintenance Service Workers for the 2026 summer operating season.
Individuals will be part of a team accountable for providing regular maintenance and operational duties that support the day use areas, campgrounds, facilities and trail systems.
We are currently looking to hire Park Maintenance Workers to work in the Slave Lake Area.
Park Maintenance Worker 1 (MSW1)
- Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park – 2 positions
- Hilliard’s Bay Provincial Park – 5 positions
Park Maintenance Worker 2 (MSW2)
- Lesser Slave Lake and Hilliard’s Bay Provincial Parks – 1 position (for the entire area)
Park Maintenance Crew Lead (MSW3)
- Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park – 1 position
As a Park Maintenance Service Worker (MSW1), duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Lawn maintenance and grounds keeping duties including Day Use areas and campgrounds
- Minor repairs of park facilities.
- Performing routine custodial and cleaning duties of park facilities.
- Routine Janitorial Duties on Shower building and outhouses
- Responding to in-person requests for information on area amenities and park conditions, as needed.
- Performing routine and preventative maintenance on infrastructure, vehicles and equipment.
- Completing trail and signage projects.
- Reporting all maintenance concerns accordingly.
- Being familiar with and practicing all pertinent Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S;) policies, procedures and protocols as well as the Facility Emergency Response Plan and protocols.
- Completing administrative tasks such as timesheets, expense claims, commencement and termination paperwork, and online courses.

As the Park Maintenance Worker 2 (MSW2), primary duties include assisting with and performing MSW1 duties in addition to some front-line administrative and supervisory tasks such as:
- Operation of Equipment single axle Garbage Truck and solid waste management and disposal in three provincial parks (Lesser Slave Lake, Hilliards Bay, and Winagami Lake).
- Operation of Equipment such as tandem axle trucks (Class 3 with Q endorsement), skid steer, loader, backhoe/excavator, farm tractor and all associated implements and attachments, single and tandem axle dump trucks.
- Minor repairs of facilities.
- Performing routine custodial and cleaning duties of park facilities.
- Responding to in-person requests for information on area amenities and park conditions, as needed.
- Performing routine and preventative maintenance on infrastructure, vehicles and equipment.
- Reporting all maintenance concerns accordingly.
- Being familiar with and practicing all pertinent Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S;) policies, procedures and protocols as well as the Facility Emergency Response Plan and protocols.
