Position Summary:
The Operations Systems Support Lead is responsible for leading a team of Specialists in the deployment, support, and continuous improvement of the companies operating systems. This role ensures operational excellence through structured training, system configuration oversight, and proactive issue resolution. The Lead acts as a bridge between frontline operations and system development teams, ensuring that WMS and our other systems are effectively leveraged to support business goals.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Lead and mentor a team of WMS Specialists, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning
- Coordinate training schedules and ensure team members are proficient in system-directed processes such as receiving, picking, replenishment, and load auditing
- Support career development through coaching and performance feedback
- Oversee the configuration and maintenance of WMS platforms including VoiceConsole, Infios
- Ensure timely resolution of system-related issues by coordinating with IT and field support teams
- Monitor system health and performance metrics, escalating concerns as needed
- Develop and maintain SOPs and training materials for salaried and hourly staff across various WMS functions
- Facilitate structured onboarding and refresher training for new hires and transitioning teams
- Promote knowledge sharing and ensure documentation is version-controlled and accessible
- Collaborate with Inventory, Receiving, and Quality teams to align WMS processes with operational workflows
- Lead initiatives to improve slotting, labeling, and branch transfer processes
- Support change management activities during system upgrades or transitions
- Participate in site evaluations and pilot rollouts for new WMS implementations
- Coordinate hyper care support and feedback loops during go-live phases
- Track outstanding action items and ensure timely follow-up and closure
- Ensure the operations follow all Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and Good Warehouse Practices (GWP)/Valuable Drivers Practices (GDP) for transport rules and regulations.

Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience mentoring and managing cross-functional teams, including project managers and system leads
- Deep understanding of operational systems architecture, configuration, and deployment in a distribution or logistics environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead national rollouts and system upgrades, including site-specific adaptations and stakeholder coordination
- Strong background in analyzing workflows to identify inefficiencies and implementing, system-based solutions for optimization
- Experience developing and executing multi-year roadmaps aligned with business growth, scalability, and compliance needs
- Familiarity with implementing automation and system-directed processes to reduce manual tasks and improve accuracy
- Proficiency in leveraging data for decision-making, including experience with reporting tools such as Power BI and labor analytics
- Experience managing vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, service level agreements, and support coordination
- Knowledge of governance frameworks for system configuration, data integrity, and change control processes
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with departments such as HR, Compliance, and Operations to align systems with organizational goals
- Experience managing travel budgets, deployment schedules, and resource allocation for national support teams
- This role will be required to travel up to 50% of the time. During peak implementations this could increase to 75% of the time.
