Position Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Appliance Sales Associate to join our hardware store team. In this role, you will assist customers in selecting appliances that meet their needs, provide product knowledge and recommendations, and help drive sales in the appliance department. Your goal is to ensure customer satisfaction while achieving sales targets and maintaining an organized and welcoming shopping environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and engage customers in the appliance section and throughout the store
- Provide expert knowledge on a wide range of household appliances, including refrigerators, dishwashers, washers/dryers, ovens, and more
- Explain product features, benefits, warranties, pricing, and financing options
- Assist customers with comparisons and product recommendations based on their needs
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently
- Coordinate appliance deliveries, installations, and service appointments as needed
- Maintain attractive product displays and ensure all items are properly labeled and stocked
- Stay current on product knowledge, sales promotions, and manufacturer updates
- Handle customer questions, concerns, and returns with professionalism
- Collaborate with other store team members to ensure a positive shopping experience
- Adhere to all safety protocols and report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Friendly, customer-focused attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal communication and listening skills.
- Strong attention to detail, numeracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Prior retail or hardware experience an asset.
- Willingness to learn new products, systems, and procedures.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Physically able to lift and move products as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $17.85-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
