Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Workday Payroll Technical Analyst to support the implementation and ongoing optimization of Workday Payroll for our UK operations. This role will serve as the technical owner of the Workday Payroll platform, working closely with HR Payroll Operations, Finance, and HR Technology teams.
\n
This is not a payroll processing role. The focus is on system configuration, integrations, compliance enablement, and platform optimization to ensure scalable, compliant, and high-performing payroll operations.

Key Responsibilities
\n
- Support the end-to-end implementation of Workday Payroll (UK), including configuration, testing, validation, and deployment.
- Configure and maintain Workday Payroll components such as earnings, deductions, taxes, pay groups, calendars, and payroll frameworks.
- Design, build, and maintain inbound and outbound integrations (e.g., benefits providers, finance systems, time tracking tools, and third-party vendors).
- Troubleshoot payroll system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement configuration or integration fixes.
- Collaborate with Payroll Operations, HR, and Finance to translate business requirements into scalable Workday solutions aligned with UK regulations.
- Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation and statutory reporting through system updates and rigorous testing.
- Support Workday releases, including impact analysis, regression testing, and feature adoption.
- Develop and maintain reports, calculated fields, and dashboards for payroll reconciliation, audit, and financial processes.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization within payroll workflows.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.
Required Skills & Experience\n
- Proven experience in Workday Payroll implementation and/or support, preferably with UK Payroll.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Workday Payroll configuration, including:
- Earnings & deductions
- Taxation
- Pay groups & calendars
- Retro processing
- Experience with Workday integrations:
- EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder)
- Core Connectors
- Workday Studio (preferred)
- Solid understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory compliance from a systems perspective.
- Experience supporting Workday releases and change management in production environments.
- Proficiency in Workday reporting, calculated fields, and data validation.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Technology teams in a structured setting.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications\n
- Prior experience in global payroll environments or multi-country implementations.
- Workday certification(s) in Payroll or Integrations.
- Experience working in Agile or project-driven delivery models.
