Hours: 30 hours per week

Position Summary
The Human Resources Coordinator will support internal operations by reviewing and updating policies
(with support), improving document management systems, and strengthening organizational practices to
ensure compliance with Habitat Canada standards. This role contributes to the overall effectiveness of
the affiliate, supporting staff and volunteers who deliver Habitat MVI’s mission, fundraising efforts, and
community impact.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in reviewing and updating policies and procedures (required every three years) to ensure
compliance with Habitat Canada standards
• Support organizational practices that enable effective fundraising, volunteer engagement, and
program delivery
• Implement, organize, update, and maintain digital filing systems
• Digitize and properly categorize hard-copy documents
• Improve accessibility, consistency, and organization of internal records
• Ensure confidential handling of HR and organizational information
• Support onboarding documentation and administrative processes where needed
• Support Habitat Family Services where required

Supervision & Support
The student will report to the Operations Lead and Executive Director and receive regular supervision,
structured tasks, and mentorship. Training will include document management systems, HR practices,
and workplace policies.
Qualifications
• Interest in human resources, business administration, or nonprofit operations
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
• Comfortable working with digital tools and file management systems
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
Eligibility (Canada Summer Jobs)
• Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection under the
Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
• Have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada
