Our client is opening a new Distribution Center in Oshawa, ON and is looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to aid in the opening. This person will be responsible for administering policies relating to all phases of human resources. Strong understanding of Compliance, Labour Relations and recruiting. Ideal candidate will come from a 3PL, warehouse or distribution environment.

Human Resources Manager Responsibilities:

- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
- Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions
- Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals
- Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as: new hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting
- Trains management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment
- Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs
- Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization
- Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within the organization
- Administers perks programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance
- Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier
- Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate
- Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations

Human Resources Manager Qualifications
\n
- Bachelorās degree from a 4 year college or university
- Experience in 3PL, Distribution or Warehousing
- Minimum 10 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and training
- PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
