Responsibilities for the Product Development Coordinator include but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with designers to ensure product specifications are met and designs are translated accurately into samples
- Communicate with suppliers daily to ensure the timely receipt and evaluation of product samples
- Follows and adheres to design calendar
- Maintain accurate and up-to date records of products specifications, sample details and production timelines.
- Generate reports and summaries as required by the design team.
- Understands customers strict deadlines and ensures that deadlines are met.
- Track and manage product samples throughout the development process.
- Communicate any issues that will cause delays in meeting the customer or market deadlines
- Preparing flat sketches and technical sketches
- Preparing detailed technical packages (sketches, fabric information and trim details)
- Organize and maintain consistency and accuracy of information for design, development and the Sales team (technical packages, artworks, fabric sourcing)
- Constantly review and develop best practices to optimize product development procedures and ensure efficiency. Identify area for improvement and concerns and make recommendations
- Collaborate with production team on approving strike offs, lab dips and fabric qualities
- Review all development samples and cross check with tech pack to ensure that all details are accurate
- Photograph all development samples and tag them with required information
- Ensure coordination between sampling and the technical department (fitting styles) and production
- Fabric and trim sourcing
Requirements for the role of the Product Development:
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Education in Fashion Design
- Proven experience in fashion design and product development
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment
- Ability to work with strict deadlines and multitask
- Must have excellent knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
- Knowledge of Photoshop is an added bonus
- Good knowledge in MS Office (Outlook, Excel and Word)
- Strong communication skills in English
- Strong organizational skills
- Solid knowledge in garment construction and fabrics
