JOB PURPOSE:
\nThe Day Shift Millwright will maintain, troubleshoot, overhaul, repair all equipment to required standards and be responsive to line calls, and equipment failures. The Millwright routinely performs work independently and must be able to work in an environment with many distractions while maintaining a high level of accuracy in performing their duties.\n

\nKEY JOB FUNCTIONS / ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES:\n
\n
- This position will take place on the weekends. Hours of work are from 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Friday/Saturday/Sunday (3 x 10 Hours Shifts)
\n
- Provides support in troubleshooting / repairs and system improvements (optimization) to ensure quality and efficiency.
\n
- Reads and interprets blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures; identifies replacement parts.
\n
- Assist onsite contractors, as required.
\n
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM's) on all equipment as required; documents and maintains details of inspections.
\n
- Participate in ongoing cross-training, multi skilling activities within the organization.
\n
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency in achieving results.
\n
- Ensures that all operator safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications, and installations.
\n
- Knows and understands process documentation and customer specific requirements, as they relate to this job function.
\n
- Install, align, dismantle, and move industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
\n
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as forklifts, jacks, and Telehandeler to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery.
\n
- Operate machine tools such as grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery.
\n
- Rebuild and/or overhaul machinery and equipment, as required.
\n
- Confined space entry and working from heights, as required.
\n
- Use or wear all protective equipment required for the assigned tasks and in compliance with Company policies.
\n
- Follows and complies with all Operational Procedures and Policies including the Ontario Health & Safety Act and regulations.
\n
- Interacts with CFIA on a daily basis.
\n
- Follows and complies with all Food Safety regulatory requirements, including GMP's.
\n
- Adheres to Conestoga Meat Packer's Core Values.

- Performs other duties as required.

\nQUALIFICATIONS:\n
\n
- Ontario Certificate of Qualification Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (433A)
\n
- Candidates will have a Certificate of Apprenticeship or possess a recognized equivalent (optional)

- Minimum of two (2) years demonstrated and verifiable experience working in a food processing environment.
