Job Title: Construction Coordinator (Electrical & Instrumentation)
Location: Edmonton, Alberta
Length: 2 Years (with potential extension)

Role Summary
Provides owner-side construction coordination and execution oversight for Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I;) scopes on a large industrial capital project. Acts as the owner’s representative supporting E&I; construction, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and handover to Operations, while coordinating EPC contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and commissioning teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee E&I; construction, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and turnover activities on behalf of the owner
- Interface with EPC contractors, subcontractors, vendors, commissioning teams, and Operations to ensure aligned execution
- Ensure work is performed safely and in compliance with drawings, specifications, standards, and project schedules
- Support construction sequencing, workface planning, progress tracking, and resolution of field constraints
- Participate in pre‑commissioning, commissioning, startup, system turnover, and handover to Operations
- Review and redline drawings; manage punch lists, deficiencies, and system readiness status
- Provide clear, accurate field status updates and execution feedback to project leadership
Role Scope
- Represents the owner in day-to-day E&I; construction and commissioning activities
- Provides field leadership to ensure quality, schedule, and safety expectations are met
- Supports coordination across engineering, construction, commissioning, vendors, and Operations
- Contributes to risk identification, constraint management, and continuous execution improvement
- Ensures readiness for system completion, commissioning, and operational handover
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive Electrical & Instrumentation experience, including owner-side or owner’s representative roles
- Career progression through Journeyman / Technician, Foreman / Lead, and E&I; or Construction Coordination roles
- Experience supporting large industrial projects ranging from $50MM to multi‑billion‑dollar scopes
- Strong technical experience with: Electrical power distribution (LV, MV, HV), Instrumentation and controls, DCS / SIS systems (loop checks, cause & effect testing), Substations, EHT, temporary power, and shutdowns/turnarounds
- Robust understanding of construction sequencing, schedule integration, and execution risk management
- Exposure to Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) or structured workface planning preferred
- Demonstrated safety leadership in high‑risk E&I; construction environments
