DELIVERY/WAREHOUSE PERSONNEL
Priority Objectives
1. The basic function of delivery personnel is to deliver and install merchandise to customers in a professional, ethical, and courteous manner.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Deliver & assemble merchandise sold to customers and complete necessary paperwork according to company standards.
2. Notify Manager of any customer complaint so the company can correct the problem.
3. Drive responsibly and follow all traffic laws when operating a company vehicle.
4. Assist in preparing merchandise for delivery.
5. Assist in receiving merchandise.
6. Assist in distributing merchandise within the warehouse and store.
7. Assist in maintaining and cleaning warehouse and merchandise.
8. Assist in maintaining delivery vehicles and equipment.
9. Attend Staff Meetings as required
10. Notify Manager of any damaged or missing merchandise immediately.
11. Follow company policies regarding safety measures and precautions.
12. Put all packing, debris, and appliances to be disposed of where directed.
13. Responsible for making sure all tools are put back and used appropriately
Expectations
1. Delivery/Warehouse Personnel are required to maintain professional communications and a positive and friendly attitude in dealing with customers.
2. Wear company uniforms always while at work and follow established policies governing their use, cleaning, and return (or follow company dress code regarding appearance and cleanliness.)
Key Skills, Capabilities, and Experience
1. Must have a driver’s license in good standing as required by the province and be at least 16 years of age
2. Capable of lifting products weighing up to 100 pounds, without restriction.
3. Must complete a training and probation period of up to 30 days after the date of employment.
4. Some experience moving furniture and appliances would be an asset.
5. Some knowledge of working with tools and craftmanship would be an asset.
