Required Experience

secondary business/office administration diploma
Recent ward clerk experience with demonstrated competencies in Care Net/Cerner order entry
Carenet training & experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word (to be tested)
Typing speed of 30 wpm (to be tested)
Knowledge of medical terminology (to be tested)
Ability to complete payroll in Medipay
Independent problem solving & decision making skills
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work setting
Availability to work 12 and 8 hour shifts including weekends
Recent satisfactory attendance and performance records
Knowledge of and adherence to Brightshores ‘CARE’ Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence)
Advocates and supports a culture of patient safety and demonstrates an understanding of how the department service and assigned responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at Brightshores through patient safety knowledge, skills and attitudes
Preferred
Ward Clerk Certificate Program
Familiarity with Service Ontario Birth Registration Process
Experience in Ontario health coverage process and policies (ability to issue health cards appropriately)
Knowledge of Newborn Screening tests & follow
