Employment Type: funded organization Other Requirements and Conditions of Employment: Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (with the Vulnerable Sector Check) Satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check Satisfactory Adult Abuse Registry Check Valid Driver’s License Current Vehicle Registration, indicating 3rd Party Liability Insurance of $1,000,000 or more Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Volunteer Coordinator Duties: Develops Volunteer Program objectives and implements evaluation to ensure overall effectiveness of the Program Creates volunteer recruitment and retention strategies Updates and maintains policies and procedures related to the Volunteer Program in collaboration with Clinical Service Lead – Spiritual Health Provides encouragement and support necessary to facilitate a sense of teamwork among staff and volunteers. Develops job descriptions for volunteers in consultation with management, keeping in mind program needs and appropriate volunteer involvement Encourages and supports implementation of ongoing training, supervision and evaluation procedures for all volunteers Maintains a working relationship with program staff as well as with individual volunteers and relevant community organizations Ensures that all volunteers receive appropriate recognition through both formal and informal methods Maintains personnel files for volunteers, including: application form, signed position description, confidentiality form(s) and commitment forms, record of time involvement, training received and evaluation.
