related itemsDevelop, implement and maintain any required monitoring systemsCollaborate with the Short Range Planning Engineer to ensure that geotechnical work is scheduledEstablish an appropriate data collection program to support geotechnical design, including collaboration with Geology to maximize and optimize data collectionPrepare Standard Operating Procedures for Geotechnical tasks as part of business readinessReview mine designs (development prints, etc) to ensure compliance with geotechnical requirementsRegularly assess stope stability performance, perform back analysis of ELOS and advise on opportunities to maximize stope recovery and minimize dilutionLiaise with the corporate Geotechnical team to ensure the mine’s geotechnical designs and systems align with corporate expectationsPromote innovation and continuous improvement initiatives in safety and productivityOther tasks as required by the Engineering Superintendent to supportQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, or equivalent5+ years of experience in underground mine engineering with a minimum of 3 years working in ground controlEligibility for Professional Engineering designation in the Province of OntarioStrong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPointKnowledge of Deswik CAD requiredKnowledge of RocScience Software considered an assetMust be able to work independently and within a team structureAbility to effectively prioritize job duties and work in a fast‑paced environmentExperience working in a multicultural environmentExcellent interpersonal skills, strong work ethic and a positive attitudeStrong ability to effectively communicate in English (oral and written)Work Schedule Schedule: 4/3 schedule, at our Detour Lake mine site.
