Summary
Join a growing ophthalmology clinic where you’ll lead clinical operations AND assist in cataract surgery. Ideal for an experienced ophthalmic technician or surgical assistant looking to expand into a dual clinical + OR role.
This is a role combining:
Clinic leadership (ophthalmic technician)
Operating room support (surgical assistant)
Responsibilities
Operating Room:
Assist surgeon during cataract & refractive procedures
Maintain sterile field and surgical instruments
Prepare and turn over OR between cases
Follow infection control and OHP protocols
Clinic (Lead Technician):
Perform patient workups (VA, IOP, dilation, history)
Run diagnostics (OCT, visual fields, biometry)
Support physician during exams and procedures
Help coordinate clinic flow and support team efficiency
Train and support junior staff
Requirements
Experience in ophthalmology clinic OR operating room (2+ years preferred)
One of the following:
RPN / RN
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant / Technician (COA / COT)
Surgical Assistant / Surgical Technologist
Sterile Processing Technician with OR exposure
Knowledge of aseptic technique / sterile field
Robust communication and teamwork skills
Nice to Have
Cataract surgery experience
Leadership or senior technician experience
Experience in private surgical clinics
Schedule
Part time
3–4 Tuesdays per month (7:30 AM – ~4 PM)
Additional days as Ophthalmic Technician
Pay: $22.00
