The Town of Gander’s Community Services Department is seeking energetic and creative individuals with leadership skills. The Department is hiring several individuals to assist with the Summer Program activities.
\n
These positions will provide the successful applicants with the prospect to develop their leadership and communication skills as well as gain experience in dealing with the general public. The positions required include Civic Enhancement Attendants, Programmers & Special Events Staff.
\n
QUALIFICATIONS
\n· Is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment.\n
· Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents. International students are not eligible participants.
\n
· Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
\n
· First aid certificate valid for the employment period would be an asset.
\n
· Civic Enhancement workers should have knowledge of general landscaping practices and an interest in horticultural activities.
\n
· Programmers should have previous experience working with the public and children.
\n
· Special Event Staff should have a creative approach and an ability to multitask.
\n
· Successful applicants will be required to provide a code of conduct.
\n
· Valid driver’s license would be an asset.
\n
