Reporting to the Manager of Environmental Health, the Statistician II is responsible to coordinate the capturing, analyzing and updating Departmental statistics and databases. The position will report on data findings monthly and as needed and exercise precision in tracking inspection activity, permits, and other Departmental activities including various lines of business. The position will write database queries and extract documents within various Departmental programs and methodologies.

The incumbent will develop and implement various tools for tracking information and will be responsible to maintain requests for information as it relates to data. This position will also perform analysis of data using various tools and prepare charts, tables, graphs, and presentations. This position will oversee various performance indicators and service standards.

This position will also provide support to staff within the Department and advise and consult on research and or design of projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advice, administrative & user support to staff with regards to the AMANDA system in addition to improving information management related services within the division and for performing other related duties as required.

Screening Criteria

1. University Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics or a related discipline (equivalencies will be considered)
\n
2. Proficiency with reporting writing (i.e. SQL writer/script writing)
\n
3. Experience providing application support, statistical programming, and data analytics
\n
4. Experience researching and applying performance measurement frameworks
\n
5. Experience with Power BI or other data visualization software (asset)
\n
6. Experience facilitating training sessions (asset)
\n
