term planning for the department, the Manager, Infrastructure who is responsible for implementing the capital program, supporting the land development review process, and working collaboratively with the Senior Manager, Engineering (Transportation, Drainage). The position is also responsible for implementing the Municipality's strategic priorities and goals, including preparing and making global decisions related to the Engineering Department capital and operating budgets and asset management. This position may be called upon to prepare for and attend regular Council and/or Committee of the Whole meetings when required, attend routine senior leadership meetings, and may represent the Municipality at regional functions, liaise with other government agencies and institute provincial and federal regulations. Deployment to other duties may be required from time to time at the direction of the Director, Engineering. As the preferred candidate, the incumbent must be a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) or equivalent, be a full member in good standing with EGBC, and possess 7+ years of experience as a civil engineer, with at least three years of progressive experience in senior engineering positions, preferably in a local government setting. The successful candidate will also possess experience in the following key areas: Technical skills: planning and design of civil engineering works such as: water distribution and treatment; sanitary collection and treatment; proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs; Management skills: strong project management and budget management skills; the ability to deal effectively with the general public and development community; demonstrable ability to manage engineering and project team staff in a unionized environment; demonstrable innovative problem
