Who you are: We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst who combines deep financial acumen with advanced data capabilities to provide strategic insights on our most significant investment – our people.
You will partner closely with our People Operations organization to provide financial analysis, planning and forecasting for all talent‐related costs across Geotab's global operations. You are energized by translating HR metrics into financial insights, comfortable navigating sensitive compensation data and skilled at building trusted partnerships with non‐finance stakeholders.

What you'll do: As a Senior Financial Data Analyst, your key area of responsibility will be driving financial performance management reporting and providing sophisticated insights to enable stakeholders to assess risks and pinpoint strategic opportunities for growth.
You will need to work closely with senior high‐level stakeholders, including the AVP Financial Analysis, CFO, and the sales organization, as well as collaborate with other internal data teams to ensure data governance and quality.
To be successful in this role, you will be a natural mentor and problem‐solver with the ability to foster a collaborative environment and act as a subject‐matter expert in data storytelling. In addition, the successful candidate will have advanced analytical and modeling skills with an ability to identify nuanced trends and develop sophisticated financial models for budgeting and forecasting.
You will also be able to manage complex SQL queries and automate workflows to significantly improve operational efficiency. This role will be focused on People Operations.
How you'll make an impact:
Provide regular, in‐depth strategic monthly reports to senior high‐level stakeholders, highlighting critical analytics and metrics results.
Lead the development and maintenance of sophisticated advanced financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
Act as the SQL Query expert to craft and optimize complex queries, leveraging advanced analytical tools to identify opportunities for process improvements.
Identify opportunities for automation and spearhead the development of scripts or workflows to streamline routine tasks.
Oversee the enhancement of data quality in GBQ tables and ensure compliance with approved policies for data collection.
Apply deep understanding of data visualization to communicate insights and engage in predictive modeling and time series analysis.
Drive initiatives to increase gross margin and profitability through analytical insights.
Provide mentorship and guidance to other financial data team members as the subject‐matter expert (SME).
What you'll bring to the role:
5‐8 years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, and data engineering.
Solid understanding of HR and People operations functions, budgeting and allocations.
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Business, or a related field.
Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) is required.
Advanced technical proficiency in SQL, Google Big Query, Google Sheets, and Python.
Proven expertise in Power BI, data visualization, data modeling, and data mining.
