Role Overview
The Recreation Inclusion Support Facilitator plays an significant role, providing quality leisure programs, services and facilities to military members and their families. The position promotes and encourages people who require inclusion support to participate in a wide variety of community activities, helping them take care of themselves and their families so they can perform better at home and at work.
Responsibilities
Promote and encourage people who require inclusion support to participate in a wide variety of community activities.
Facilitate the integration of participants into recreational programs by using assistive technology and resolving accessibility issues.
Assist with the development, planning and implementation of inclusive recreational activities for children with inclusion needs.
Provide personal care and health support in settings such as playgrounds, gym, pool, washroom, lunch, and on field trips.
Work with participants individually or in groups, ensuring their inclusion and participation in chosen activities.
Qualifications
Education and Certifications
College diploma or certificate in Child Development, Physical Education, Recreation or a related discipline and some years of experience in a related field; OR high‑school diploma and several years of experience in a related field.
Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification.
High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD) certification (completed by end of probation).
Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention training is an asset.
Experience
Planning and organising recreational and sports activities/programs for children and youth.
Working with children and youth, including those with inclusion needs.
Leading, supporting and delivering activities for children with inclusion needs.
Using alternate communication methods.
Applying safety protocols and procedures.
Working with children with behavioural disorders.
Applying policies, procedures, regulations and applicable legislation.
Competencies
Client focus, organisational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
Language Requirements
English essential; bilingual (English and French) is an asset.
Reading, writing and oral communication functional.

Additional Information
Perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 10 lbs/4.5 kg but less than 50 lbs/23 kg).
As part of the selection process, the successful candidate must successfully complete a Reliability status security screening and Vulnerable Sector Check.
This is an on‑site position with an assigned work location.
Start date: June 22, 2026 and end date: August 28, 2026.
