In this temporary casual role, you will be pivotal in the specimen collection process, from greeting patients to preparing samples for transportation. Your responsibilities will include performing phlebotomies, maintaining client relationships, and managing data entry for patient demographics and requisition information. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring patients understand their testing requirements, delivering compassionate service even in challenging moments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Greet patients and request necessary information
• Perform phlebotomies and ECG tracings
• Handle special test collections and document results
• Maintain client relationships and respond to inquiries
• Prepare specimens for transportation and testing
Requirements:
• Graduate from an approved Laboratory Assistant program
• Phlebotomy experience preferred
• ECG training or experience is an asset
• Minimum typing speed of 40 wpm required
• Solid customer service and empathy skills
