Responsibilities:
Supporting the employer in his daily life in various settings, including in his home, out in the community, and at his job
Meal planning and preparation of a variety of different cuisines (including Canadian cuisine)
Personal care assistance
Light housekeeping
Required Skills and Experience:
Experience in the disability field is an asset, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate. However, the successful candidate must:
Be willing to learn and assist the employer with his technology from the CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind)
Have experience using computers/technology (both Windows and Mac based programs or devices)
Be comfortable going out in the community to events and locations as desired by the employer
Be comfortable taking public transit with the employer
Be willing to drive the employer’s van
Be fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills
Be able to determine both when support is required and when to step back
Be a self

Transparent Criminal Record Check required
Transparent Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check required
First Aid/CPR Required – if you do not have a valid CPR/First Aid certificate, you must complete within your first 6 months of employment
