Required Experience

6 years;

Teach individuals and group about health promotion topics;
\n
Assist the Community Health Nurse to provide and deliver programs and services;
\n
Advocate, refer and act as a liaison for families;
\n
Work closely with other Health Care Professionals;
\n
planning and delivering workshops, community education events;
\n
Developing of appropriate awareness materials; administering the nutrition coupon program;
\n
Qualifications: Early Childhood Education Certificate (Combination of Education and experience may be considered);
\n
Growing Great Kids (GGK) Curriculum training is an asset or willing to obtain;
\n
Certified First Aide & CPR and Secure Food Handling Certificate required or willing to obtain;
\n
Personal experience as a parent or caregiver of infants &/or young children, is an asset;
\n
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
\n
Able to work independently, be self

directed and demonstrate organizational skills;
\n
The ability to speak/understand Cree a definite asset;
\n
Experience working with First Nations Communities is an asset;
\n
Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License; Location La Ronge, Saskatchewan

Position Details

Hours: on approach to learning and supportive mentoring as a peer. Advocate, refer and act as a liaison for families.

Work closely with Health Care Professionals and working with the Public Health Nursing & Health Team to provide and deliver programs and services. This position is based out of the community of Sucker River and Grandmother’s Bay. The successful candidate will travel from La Ronge to outlying communities daily, Fleet vehicle will be provided, and hours of work will include travel time.
