Job Description
Reporting to the Care Team Manager, the Resident Care Coordinator is responsible for supporting the highest standard of care and service provision to residents living on a given neighbourhood. As an experienced practitioner, the resident care coordinator acts in a leadership role to provide specialized clinical expertise, coordination of resident care, and support and teaching to the resident care team (including residents and families) within a collaborative workplace. The routine procedures are generally predetermined but critical thinking and independent judgment is an integral part of the position.
Experience
Three (3) years experience in the specific department/area/program
Current knowledge and minimum of three (3) years recent experience in long term care nursing within a team environment is required.
Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable
Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable
Nursing diploma is acceptable
Licenses
Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
Current registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrates leadership abilities.
