ALCLA Native Plants, located in Carstairs, AB, is a nursery operating in Treaty 7 Territory promoting native plants since 1992. We offer over 150 species of native grasses, shrubs, and wildflowers sourced regionally to preserve genetic diversity and climate tolerance for Central and Southern Alberta. Our specialties are container grown live plants and seed sales.
Role Description
We are looking for an outgoing person with a passion for native plants to join our team for the full time seasonal role of Nursery Assistant.
The work will be on site at our nursery in Carstairs, AB. We have received a grant to employ a youth applicant for this position.
The latest start date will be May 4, 2026 and the position will be full time for 4 months with the possibility to continue part time to the end of September.
This seasonal role involves support with operational tasks emphasizing customer service and order fulfillment. Responding to product inquiries, assisting clients, and completing sales via a POS system are Nursery Assistant duties on client visit days. Other tasks will include packing seed and plant orders along with occasional assistance on other nursery projects on site. Data entry may sometimes be involved.
Workdays will mainly be Tuesday through Saturday.

Ability to communicate effectively; verbal and written

Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects
