focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Participate in client meeting preparation, drafting post‑meeting notes and identifying next opportunities, gathering, and inputting financial data resulting from discovery conversations. Understand and comply with all industry regulations and MD's program and process requirements.

Connect with clients by phone and in writing, communicating marketing initiatives, conducting meaningful discovery conversations and fostering engagement relative to the MD financial suite and Scotiabank offerings. Help promote/advocate MD products and services with clients and prospects, which involves re‑engaging our “disengaged” clients. Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day‑to‑day activities and decisions.

Keep current on issues affecting the financial affairs of clients, including a general knowledge of income tax, investment trends and products, as well as any other issues impacting clients. Actively pursue effective and effective operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day‑to‑day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Qualifications University degree in business, commerce or equivalent degree related to the practice of financial planning. CIRO licensed as a Registered Representative (CIRO‑RR) including completion of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE), Retail Securities Exam (RSE) and, for Quebec offices, the Group Annuity Sector (PQPAV). Life License (LLQP) is required in all other provinces.

Willingness to complete other regulatory requirements. Demonstrated working knowledge of financial planning and financial services, including banking and lending products. Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in an advisory role supporting clients.
