About the Opportunity\nWelch LLP is seeking a Manager specializing in Tax to join our team. In this role, you will review tax filings, processes and controls to ensure compliance with Canadian tax regulations, and provide strategic tax planning advice to clients.

Duties and Responsibilities
\n
Review corporate, trust, partnership and personal tax returns and various tax elections
\n
Establish and maintain effective internal relationships
\n
Supervise and mentor junior staff
\n
Participate in income tax planning and consulting
\n
Think strategically about client needs by understanding their business in order to serve as a trusted business advisor
\n
Anticipate technical issues and where required, develop sound solutions
\n
Involve appropriate firm personnel to ensure all aspects associated with the work have been properly addressed
\n
Demonstrate technical competence in practice discipline, serve as a technical resource for staff, and provide suggestions for resolving technical issues
\n
Oversee preparation of voluntary disclosures for corporate tax related issues
\n
Conduct tax research and advise on technical matters
\n
Attend relevant workshops and conferences to remain up‑to‑date on tax issues
\n
Develop and teach internal courses on technical matters
\n
Qualifications
\n
University degree specializing in Accounting
\n
Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience
\n
CPA designation obtained or nearing completion
\n
Experience with TaxPrep is a strong asset
\n
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
\n
Knowledge of Canadian tax regulations
\n
Strong planning, organization and engagement control skills
\n
