Position Details

Employment Type: Maintenance Manager\nLocation: Whistler, BC; On site.

Salary: $65,000 to $68,000 per year.
\n
Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time.
\n
Start date: as soon as possible.
\n
Responsibilities
\n
Oversee and coordinate installation, maintenance and repair work throughout the hotel locations.
\n
Lead a small team of 2–3 maintenance technicians and perform hands‑on maintenance as required.
\n
Coordinate routine, preventive and emergency maintenance and repairs both inside and outside the hotel.
\n
Ensure smooth and productive operation of hotel functions, optimizing performance and cost.
\n
Provide professional and friendly service to guests.
\n
Respond to shift‑report emails for maintenance issues and collaborate with Housekeeping and Guest Services to resolve them.
\n
Anticipate guest needs and find guest‑centric solutions.
\n
Assign work to general maintenance technicians.
\n
Promote communication and maintain good relations between maintenance and all other departments.
\n
Source pricing and quotes for maintenance items and contractor work.
\n
Manage and update inventories and supplies as needed.
\n
Keep the departmental budget under the direction of the Hotel Manager.
\n
Submit requisitions for supplies in line with forecast and budget; obtain approval for outside services.
\n
Determine materials, equipment and supplies; transfer equipment and personnel between projects as necessary.
\n
Maintain a file of all equipment repairs and vendors that have serviced equipment.
\n
Maintain all tools, equipment and supplies in a secure area; keep inventories and issue purchase orders when supplies need to be ordered.
\n
Maintain a list of hotel‑owned equipment and tools with a binder of warranties and receipts.
\n
Maintain an organized manual of hotel suppliers and service providers with relevant pricing details.
\n
Document attic stock of carpet, wallpaper and other supplies and note storage location.
\n
Contribute maintenance information to strategic plans, projects and reviews.
\n
Follow company policies and procedures.
\n
Pass important information to all relevant staff.
\n
Perform other related duties as needed.
\n
Attend meetings or training sessions/courses as required.
\n
Continuously evaluate performance of maintenance staff and take corrective actions when necessary.
\n
Ensure compliance with provincial and local laws and building codes.
\n
Conduct regular departmental meetings.
