Job Duties & Responsibilities
· Grind metal or other materials.
· Read and understand design instructions, making precise measurements for needed parts and marking materials for cutting or shaping.
· Inspect machined parts and tooling in order to maintain quality control standards.
· Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.
· Be adept in portable line boring.
· Check dozers, haul trucks, excavators and other heavy construction and mining equipment for proper performance.
· Quality control analysis by conducting test and inspections of products, services or process to evaluate quality and performance.
· Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects.
Experience Requirements
The successful candidate should be a self starter, competent and confident in working with line boring equipment and experienced with heavy duty mining equipment. They need to be able to work with minimal supervision. Experience in operating a forklift and overhead cranes an asset. Welding experience is an asset;
What we need from you
· A desire to make a difference and take pride in your work.
· A minimum of 5 years experience working with large construction and mining open pit equipment.
· A minimum of 5 years experience with portable line boring.
· Must include in depth experience with CAT, Komatsu, and Hitachi.
· Superior mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting and technical skills and the ability to work in the shop or field.
· Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail.

starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Able to perform manual labour and have the ability to lift and manage 50 pounds without assistance.
Education & Training Requirements
· Journeymen Machinist with 5 years+ experience in the mining industry.
Tooling supplied,
14/14 Shift
Flights provided if candidate resides outside of a 1000 km radius
Accommodation is provided as well as transportation to and from the site/shop.
