Travel expenses, including kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500), are reimbursed, along with travel time up to 10 hours per week.
Licensing fees for CPSNS are covered, and locum physicians may claim facility on call fees under specific conditions.

As it was located between the population centres of Kentville and Wolfville, New Minas soon became the retail centre for the eastern Valley.
