\nWe have an exciting opportunity in our program for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) within the Alberta Kidney Care – North program. As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the LPN is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. Decisions are made in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The LPN provides patient and family centered care to acute and chronic renal failure patient populations. The LPN will practice within the guidelines and philosophy of the AKC. You will be encouraged and be expected to work at your full scope of practice and provide a variety of nursing duties in accordance with current policies and nursing care standards.\n

Description
\nAs a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.\n

Must be able to lift 40lbs (18kg). Proof of successful completion of the CLPNA Administering Blood or Blood Products module is required if you were a graduate prior to June 2022. Basic computer skills.

The AKC –N program requires candidates to complete/pass Hemodialysis Training. Candidates with previous experience will be required to complete Hemodialysis Training as per Manager/Educators discretion.

Hemodialysis
\nTraining is held in Edmonton or Red Deer depending on classroom/instructor availability. The training is an intensive 4

2 years recent Adult Acute Care experience. Recent acute and chronic hemodialysis and/or nephrology nursing experience.
