NTI Legal Counsel works closely with the NTI Board of Directors, senior staff, and external counsel/consultants in the provision of legal services to the organization.
\n
Responsibilities include preparing/attending meetings of NTI Members and Board of Directors (may include travel), conducting legal research and providing legal advice in several areas of the law including Nunavut Agreement interpretation and implementation, Indigenous/constitutional, administrative, corporate, employment, wildlife and natural resources law, contracts, reviewing legislation and regulations and preparing submissions on proposed legislation, appearing before Institutions of Public Government/government agencies, and overseeing litigation.

solving abilities and ability to work in a politically sensitive environment and under high levels of stress/pressure are required.

Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.

Starting salary commensurate with experience and NTI’s salary grid. NTI offers comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan, group insurance and vacation travel assistance.

Housing allowance of $35,865.00
