Job Summary:*
\nWe are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Horticulturist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the cultivation, maintenance, and health of a wide variety of plants, including ornamental flowers, shrubs, and trees. You will play a crucial role in planning planting schedules, diagnosing plant diseases, and ensuring our landscapes or greenhouse operations remain aesthetically pleasing and environmentally sustainable.\n
Key Duties and Responsibilities:*
Plant Care & Maintenance: Water, prune, trim, weed, and fertilize plants, and shrubs to maintain optimum health and appearance.
Cultivation: Prepare soil, plant seeds, bulbs, and cuttings, and transplant seedlings
Landscape Planning: Assist in designing and implementing planting plans, including seasonal color changes and recent installations.
Irrigation Management: Operate and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper hydration of landscapes.
Equipment Operation: Safely operate and perform routine maintenance on gardening equipment, including mowers, blowers, and pruning tools.
Requirements and Qualifications:*
Experience: 1–3+ years of horticulture or gardening experience.
Physical Fitness: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs (25 kg), and perform repetitive tasks such as weeding and digging.
Work Workplace:*
This position is primarily outdoors, with some hours in a nursery setting.
The work is physical and often requires working early mornings to avoid peak heat.
The position is seasonal (peak hours in spring and summer)
