Technical Services, the FPM Superintendent owns the site’s Full Potential Model framework, acting as the site’s lead for all project evaluations and value‑optimism studies. You will be a part of the Technical Services Department, ensuring the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

Responsibilities
Act as the site lead for all project evaluations and studies, representing Detour in collaboration with corporate project evaluation and study teams (PEA, PFS, FS, and internal value optimization studies).
Coordinate and integrate multi‑disciplinary inputs (exploration, geology, mining, processing, infrastructure, geotechnical, environment, permitting, community relations, and operations) into coherent study deliverables.
Serve as the internal project evaluation lead, ensuring:
Timely delivery of inputs
Alignment between corporate study teams and site priorities
Quality and consistency of technical outputs
Bridge studies and operations, ensuring project concepts are:
Practical and executable
Aligned with current and future operating constraints
Informed by real site conditions and risks
Lead operational readiness planning for approved projects, including:
Integration into mine plans, infrastructure plans, and execution schedules
Identification of key risks, constraints, and enabling works
Coordination with Technical Services, Operations, Maintenance, Mill teams and construction groups.
Provide input into business cases and investment decisions, including:
Value drivers, trade‑offs, and sensitivities
Risk identification and mitigation strategies
Alignment with Detour’s strategic objectives
Ensure consistency between study outputs and site planning frameworks, including:
Life of Mine (LOM)
3‑year budget and forecasts
Full Potential model assumptions
Track and report progress of all active studies and initiatives, providing clear visibility to site leadership on:
Status
Risks
Drive continuous improvement in project evaluation processes, including standardization of inputs, assumptions, and evaluation frameworks across site and corporate teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mining, Geology, Metallurgical or Project Engineering (or equivalent), with eligibility for P.Eng registration in Ontario or other Canadian jurisdiction.
Minimum 10 years of progressive mining experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or superintendent role.
Demonstrated leadership of multi‑disciplinary technical teams.
Strong technical background, with a valuable understanding of key mining business drivers, and the full mining life cycle (from permitting and project development through to construction and execution).
Experience in both Open Pit & Underground Mining.
Project management and financial evaluation experience.
Well versed with NI‑43‑101 guidelines for studies and resource/reserve reporting.
Demonstrate working knowledge and understanding of efficient mining practices, procedures and regulations.
Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills across departments including operations, technical services, process plant, permitting and community relations.
Your Work Schedule Schedule: 5/2 working from home or in office, with a minimum of one site visit per month. Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
