Family Centre offers a comprehensive range of prevention and early intervention services for children, youth, adults, parents and other family members. Family Centre’s services include information and referrals, early childhood education, parent education, and family support programs. Family Centre is a Government of Alberta Family Resource Network.
The Family Connector is responsible to provide information and referrals to parents, caregivers, individuals and other service providers in the community by being prepared to answer phone calls and emails in a polite, patient manner while proactively identifying needs. This may include assisting those individuals requiring additional support navigating community resources and services. The incumbent will coordinate outreach initiatives, events and presentations while supporting the work of Family Centre by collecting relevant data and assisting colleagues with program support and facilitation as needed.
The Family Connector will be responsible for maintaining and providing intake/referral pathways for the city of Lethbridge’s ICA network, the Family Resource Network hub and spokes and other resources in the community.
Must be available to work some evenings and Saturdays as required.
Qualifications:
· A Diploma or Degree in a Human Services related field with a strong consideration for Social Work or Child and Youth Care or an equivalent combination of education and experience
· A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with individuals, parents, and caregivers from various backgrounds to provide education, support, advocacy, and referrals.
· Working knowledge of local community resources, and experience providing appropriate referrals to individuals in need
· Strong organization, time
