English Employee Group: URFA CUPE 5791 Job Family: N/A Category: Sessional Number of Vacancies: 1 Responsibilities This course develops student proficiency in critical reading and writing through the study of a wide range of non‑literary and literary texts, and the study of composition, with emphasis on connections between modes of reading and writing. Deliver the course both in person and remotely (hybrid) on Thursdays from 19:00–21:45. Qualifications For courses in the Literature Stream, applicants must hold an M.A. or higher degree in English, or an M.F.A. or higher degree in Creative Writing. Sessional Lecturer II: Master’s degree, or four‑year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with teaching experience of 12 three‑credit hour courses or equivalent. Sessional Lecturer III: Ph.D. or equivalent, or Master’s degree with teaching experience of 15 three‑credit hour courses or equivalent. Evidence of teaching effectiveness or potential such as student evaluations, syllabi, letters of evaluation, portfolio of related work, etc. Demonstrated ability in digitally‑assisted modalities and instructional technologies, especially for remote, online, hybrid, or hyflex courses. Compliance with the Faculty of Arts Policy Handbook regarding cancellation, office hours, assessment, and related regulations. Additional Requirements Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada, and the work associated with this position must be performed within Canada. Applicants must be able to use the University of Regina’s Learning Management System and web‑conferencing applications for remote or online components. Will be required to comply with academic regulations and policies of the Faculty of Arts.
