Transdev Canada is actively seeking an Engineering and Support Operations Manager to oversee, manage, and be accountable for the scheduling and service optimization of the Hurontario Light Rail system. This includes ensuring that transit services are maintained or improved in accordance with service delivery requirements, including the delivery of service build‐up, service modifications, and service optimization.Your roleManage the planning, scheduling, and rostering of transit services, and initiate proposals for service modifications and optimization to improve customer service and operating efficiencyOversee the work selection/sign‐up processManage Rail Operations Supervisors and Drivers as required for shift coverage and as assignedCoordinate with the Construction Contractor to achieve desired operational outcomesDevelop operational documentation related to rostering, scheduling, planning, and permittingAdminister surveys to gather data on schedule changes, customer and employee satisfaction, and prepare reports to support future improvementsAnalyze ridership data and other information to determine priorities and recommend service improvements or reductionsEvaluate requests submitted under the project agreement and follow up with appropriate staff as requiredManage resource requirements associated with each service level or service change, and track actual resource consumption against forecastsPresent reports on service changes, special services, and broader planning initiativesUse available technologies to implement KPI dashboards for daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reportingParticipate in and represent operational planning in meetings, task forces, and conferencesLead design and construction review meetings, ensuring operational safety and efficiency are considered in decision‐makingAnalyze LRV‐related data and prepare reports to support operational investigationsPrepare and present daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, as well as reports related to incidents or operational performance issuesReview and authorize work permit applications, considering impacts on scheduled serviceAssist the OCC Manager in coordinating special projects and activitiesEnsure passengers and employees are treated with respect and dignity, and that accessibility requirements are met in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and AODA regulationsStay informed of industry trends, technological developments, and relevant legislationPerform other related duties as assignedThe perksAnnual salary of $90,000 to $116,000Comprehensive compensation packagePositive work environmentCareer advancement opportunities within a solid North American presenceOpportunity to contribute to sustainable mobility solutionsA commitment to diversity and employee developmentYour profileStrong experience in developing transit schedules and rosters using TRAPEZE, HASTUS, NEXTBUS, or similar scheduling softwareExperience integrating transit planning tools with operational systems such as ATSAbility to create KPI dashboards using tools such as Power BIExtensive knowledge of service level monitoring, service adjustments, and fleet planning/budgetingStrong understanding of customer needs and the role of transit services in the communityExperience in greenfield start‐up transit operations (considered an asset)Work Experience QualificationsMust be legally entitled to work in CanadaMinimum of 5+ years of relevant planning experience in a similar operations supervisory or management role (rail experience considered an asset)Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and management skillsStrong leadership, communication, and negotiation skillsProven track record in change management within complex environmentsTact and professionalism when dealing with a wide range of challengesAbility to motivate teams and take accountabilityStrong time management and planning skillsHighly effective coordination skillsAbility to adapt to unexpected operational changesAbility to work under pressure and meet strict deadlinesStrong computer skills (HASTUS, Power BI, Microsoft Office Suite)Transdev is committed to providing accommodations for individuals with disabilities throughout the recruitment process.
