· Engage children with a range of activities and games that are well rounded for their social, physical, and emotional development.
· Foster a safe and supportive environment where children can get excited to come each and every day.
· Supervise children in the classroom and outdoors.
· Ensure children have a fun and positive experience.
· Interact daily with parents; maintain open and cooperative communication with parents and families, encouraging their involvement in the program and supporting the child’s family relationships.
· Complete general reporting and documentation procedures, as well as promptly communicate concerns to the Director.
· Ensure you are adhering to the Early Learning and Child Care Licensing Act and Regulations at all times
· Adhere to health regulations at all times.
· Perform general cleaning duties ensuring areas are kept sanitized, tidy, and free from clutter and debris.
CAPABILITIES:
· Highly energetic and love working with children of all age groups.
· Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to interact positively with children, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
· Possess written English skills with an ability to complete daily reporting procedures.
· Be in good physical health with the ability to stand, walk, crouch, bend, kneel, push, pull, and use of hands on a frequent basis.
· Capable of lifting and carrying up to 25lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate Level 1, 2 or 3. Previous professional development is also a plus.
· Standard First Aid and CPR Certificate, Level C (or willing to obtain).
· Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search dated within 6 months of start date (or willing to obtain).
· Fluent reading, writing, and verbal English skills.
· Excellent organizational skills.
