Deputy Fire Chief/Manager of Protective Services The Town of Golden is seeking an experienced and cooperative leader to join the Golden Fire Rescue Service as Deputy Fire Chief / Manager of Protective Services. This full‑time position (37.5 hours per week) supports the Fire Chief in the leadership, administration, and operational readiness of the department, while helping guide the continued development of fire and emergency services in our community.

Rescue serves a dynamic mountain community and responds to a wide range of incidents including structural fires, wildland‑urban interface events, technical rescue, medical response, and emergency management operations.

The Deputy Fire
\n
Chief plays a key role in service professionalism, operational readiness, and service delivery to the community. This is a management position with a salary range of $60,000 – $80,000 annually, along with a competitive municipal benefits package.

About the Role Reporting to the Fire Chief, the Deputy Fire Chief supports the leadership and coordination of department operations, training, and organizational development. The role provides leadership to officers and members, supports operational planning and policy development, and helps ensure the department remains a progressive and effective emergency service organization.

Chief may act on behalf of the Fire Chief when required and is expected to participate in emergency response, after‑hours callouts, and meetings outside of regular working hours.
