in Kuujjuaq) Reporting to the Construction Coordinator, the Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing cost estimates, budgets, and schedules for building and infrastructure projects carried out in Nunavik's 14 Northern villages. DUTIES:Analyze architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.Conduct site visits and collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to assess project requirements.Develop detailed project estimates including quantities, pricing, subcontractor quotes, and contingency considerations.Evaluate and monitor cost variances throughout project execution and update estimates as necessary.Assist in preparing tender documentation and evaluating bids.Provide support in the development of project budgets, cash flows, and construction schedules.Coordinate with procurement and finance teams to ensure cost alignment and compliance.Maintain a database of historical cost data and support continuous improvement in estimating practices.Perform any other related duties as required by the supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS:Diploma of college studies (DEC) or a degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.Minimum of five (5) years of experience in cost estimating, preferably in building construction or infrastructure.Strong knowledge of estimating software and tools (e.g., MS Excel, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar).Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.Strong numerical and analytical skills.Good communication skills in at least two of the following languages: Inuktitut, English, and French.Demonstrates attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.Willingness to travel to Nunavik and live in shared accommodations.Previous experience working north of the 55th parallel is an asset.
