Required Experience

related disciplines, with a clinical undergrad, based on demonstrated equivalencies
Registered (or eligible) for licensure with appropriate licensing body (Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW) or Nova Scotia Board of Examiners (NSBEP)
Two (2) years' clinical experience specific to Mental Health & Addictions; preference will be given to applicants with experience in conducting crisis response/urgent care risk assessments and consultation services in Emergency Departments and/or mobile crisis in the community

Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI)
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
Experience with or application of DSM
Demonstrate strong skills in conducting mental status exams, focused on comprehensive assessment, and risk assessments
Knowledge of legislation and responsibilities related to Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act (IPTA), Provincial Access Navigations Standards and Policies, Children & Family Services Act, Adult Protection Act and applicable NSH policy & standard
This is a bilingual position. Proficiency in both English and French (spoken and written) is required
Two (2) years related clinical experience (including assessment and planning, treatment and intervention and discharge planning) is required. If not available, candidates with less than two (2) years' experience may be considered for the selection process.
